You pay $25 a pop to see a view. This is also through a window. The museum isn't much. There were no staff there when we went up. The cafe was not open either. None of this was really told to us until we went up there.

Not a lot of views like up there! Summer or winter it doesn't matter. A must see in Mammoth. Everything from the thigh desert to the Sierra range.

Enjoyed the gondala ride,but the kids were scared. Great view of variouse mountains and lakes. If you want to eat up there make sure to buy the combo ticket for ride and lunch, it is expensive if you buy food seperatly. Kids ride free!

Well worth the cost of a gondola ride, nice lunch on top in the summer and interesting history of the area, ski off in the winter if you're good, hike or mountain bike off in the summer if your knees can handle it

The interpretive center is at the very top of the mountain (11,000 feet) - the gondola ride up is in two stages with the option to get off at McCoy Station or keep riding to the top where the Interpretive Center is.
