This is a must see stop on your tour of Gettysburg. It has something for every age. We brought two of our Grandchildren here and they are now hooked on civil war history.

This is an amazing exhibit of the Battle at Gettysburg and the Cyclorama done in 3 D and an informational movie. They said you could spend 3 hours there and we surely did!
The new visitor's center is well-done. There's a movie, a diorama room (WOW) and a museum in the same builiding. You can also reserve (two days ahead) private tour guides who drive your car thru the battlegrounds. If you're interested in civil war history, this is the place.
Note: The cafe there has a limited 'fast-food' menu, not much healthy...

The new visitors center is absolutely wonderful. They have a short movie, the awesome Cyclorama, a gift shop, and the Gettysburg war museum. The center is very modern and clean. There is a snack bar. This is an absolute must if you go to Gettysburg!!
This museum is wonderful, esp. the Cyclorama, but allow enough time. We spent 6 hours here and didn't get through it all. Admittedly, we're history buffs but it would be shame to give the museum short shrift since the exhibits are beautifully presented and comprehensive.
Skip the cafeteria, however. The food is overpriced and dreary. By mid afternoon, there was...

I wish this current incarnation of the museum, visitor center and cyclorama was available when my husband and I were kids/teens. This place is so extremely informative, well-researched, and tells "both sides" of the story - and a good thing as I descend from brave soldiers of the Amer. Revolution whose children would fight later under the banners of the...

My father is a history buff so I was extremely excited to bring him from Virignia to Gettyburg and our first stop was the Visitor Center. So much to see and realize how hard life was during the Civil War. the cyclorama was amazing, haunting and beautiful. This is a must see when visiting Gettysburg.
Absolutely awesome is the quite new Visitor Centre, movie, cyclorama & museum. 21 years ago when I was last here it was a bit twee and cheap looking. There was talk then of a rebuild and expansion in time for the 150th anniversary on 2013. Well they have done it and succeeded spectacularly. A must see & do in Pennsylvania....

First time visiting since the "new" visitors center and museum opened a few years ago. Did the movie and cyclorama, then museum.Movie is well done, narrated by Morgan Freeman- sticks to the facts, concise, but hits the major points. Restored cyclorama looks great- saw it years back, and restoration is amazing.New viewing area is set up well for viewing. Museum...
