Though not in the top ten of greenhouse attractions I have seen, it was fun to see the figures from Sherwood Forest interspersed through the different displays. Few unusual plant varieties, but parking right in front without a fee is great. Also great is no admission fee, though we happily contributed the suggested $5pp donation.

The Conservatory is home to beautiful and exotic plants in a setting which reminds us of the grandeur of buildings constructed in the 1880's. This is the 125th year for the Conservatory making it the 2nd oldest glass conservatory in the country. The staff is knowledgable, helpful, and anxious to answer questions. There is a "cell phone tour" which visitors... More

As locals, my husband and I had no idea this even existed. We were just walking through the park one day and were curious about the building and grounds. Oh, my! What a lovely discovery! No admission except a donation (which you will want to give after walking around there, if not before) and then you are in a small... More

Plants galore. Visitors galore. That settles the score. Named after MD councilman Howard Peters Rawlings, whose daughter is the mayor of the city as of 2009.

Great glass building! The staff there is very friendly and one gentleman told us all we ever wanted to know about orchids since they had a whole room of them. It's not a huge place and doesn't take too long to get through but we had gone on a drizzly afternoon and it was a great way to spend a... More

I have no real interest in plants or flowers but I went with my mother who loves them. She said it was a very nice place. All the guides tell you it is free as well as the website but when you come in they have a sign recomending a 5 $ donation. Since I had 8$ that is what... More

The conservatory is great place to relax and admire some beautiful nature. It's free but def worth a donation. The staff is friendly and knowledgable as well, always a bonus. The grounds outside are nice for a picnic or just a good place to ponder. Overall is a great place to visit.

I love going here. The palm room is not to be missed. The staff is super friendly and theres only a suggested donation of $5. People of all ages will love this place. Ideal for a pre-dinner date or post lunch activity.

The Howard P. Rawlings Conservatory and Garden makes a terrific outing with family or friends any time of the year! Named for a longtime state delegate (and the father of Baltimore's current mayor), the conservatory is housed in an updated but historic (1888) structure in one of the city's finest parks. Each of the rooms has a different feel to... More

When Druid Hill Park was built it was one of the East Coast's great parks , like Central Park in NYC. The conservatory is a historic part of the park, harking back to a day when folks thought seeing exotic plants was exciting.
