We really enjoyed walking though the City Market as there are some nice resturants and shops. The only negative thing would be this is more of a mid day or evening spot because several businesses were not open or ready for customers at 10 AM on a weekday.

This was so interesting. Paula Deen's restaurant was down the street and lots of shops and restaurants. Also a fountain where you could sit and enjoy the breeze under the trees. Also it was a nice place to catch the tour bus back to your car from all your shopping and touring the Historic District.

What fun to wandeer around the market. See both visual and performing artist. Shop for food and all sorts of great items. You will have a loads of fun exploring this part of Savannah's charm.

When in Savannah, you will want to visit the City Market. This is a great place where pedestrians can move around easily to enjoy the beautiful flowers, shopping, dining, or take a carriage ride. The City Market also has art galleries and unique gifts for all and it's easy to get to it from the HO HO trolley.

City Market is in the historic distric, but is not historic, it is a tourist place. With that said, we loved it here. Enjoyed the local crafts and esp liked the Wine shop and the Candy store. This was a fun shopping area. Good walk and the buildings around Ellis Square are gorgeous. Lots of restaurants with patios to eat on. From here my recommendation is to go down to the river and walk along that.

Bands were different every night; food down there no matter were you ate was good and reasonable. Shops were fun to see.

This area, about a block from the Andaz hotel and about three blocks from River Street, is an open-air, pedestrian only part of Savannah that has live entertainment, lots of eateries, and some shops. Lots of trees and benches for just enjoying the out-of-doors or eating (try the pizza at Vinnie Van GoGo!).
