I heard mixed reviews on the Salmon Bake, our experience was good. Great prime rib dinner with all the fixins. We were early in the season so price was $17, one entree + all the sides you wanted

I remember visiting Alaskaland in the early 1980s. Pioneer Park seems to have seen better days. There is no entry fee so it may be worth a stop. When we were there, many of the buildings were closed/empty. Only stayed for less than an hour - wanted to find something better to do.
This place was a bit odd. We spent a few weeks traveling Alaska and this was unfortunately our least favorite place. We did meet a few nice people and they have an interesting museum with lots of very old artifacts that was neat. The museum displays were excellent and the staff was very helpful and friendly. We enjoyed viewing the engine room and dioramas on the stern wheeler, though it would have been nice to see other areas of that boat.
Multiple small museums in which to explore different aspects of Alaska. Rides for the kids, shows for the adults. Some unique gift shops and craftsmen. Check out especially the carvings and the glass angels.

We went in 2011 and it was a super hot day about 110 and so sunny it was untrue. Everything was open and it was a very enjoyable day out. Had some lovely ice cream and wen ton the train which was fun. Didn't watch the shows and wandered around looking in all of the little cabins and shops. It...

There are several good museums, putt-putt golf, two playgrounds, one and sometimes two trains, a number of shops and restaurants housed in historic old cabins and houses brought there after the '67 flood. These are arranged in streets in a fairly natural way. There is also an art gallery and theatre in the Civic Center (the building with large images...
