The tour company was great we used them for 3 different tours. The arctic circle was fabulous! We were very fortunate to have Ronn from Ronn Murray Photography as one of the drivers! He took some of the most amazing northern light pictures i have ever seen! great trip! Ask for Ronn!

We tried contacting these people several times by email and phone to arrange a tour to view the aurora borealis. They never returned any of our emails nor responded to our voicemails. Consequently, we never actually did business with them due to their failed customer service. Other companies were responsive, so we booked with those companies instead.

We took a number of tours with them (me, kids, 20, 17, 12): Chena Hot Springs, Arctic Circle and Dog Mushing. I was very happy with the way that it was organized (I initially spoke to Ralf on the phone and then his wife Maggie to finalize the bookings - her English is a little bit hard to understand at... I decided to book tours as I was travelling by myself & was not going to attempt driving in Alaska. I booked the Arctic Circle & Dog sledding trips in advance from England - just as well as some dates were already fully booked. Maggie in the office was really helpful, friendly & very patient with my questions. I was... More

Aurora lights, check. Great time in Alaska in the winter, check. Reliable, knowledgeable and personal tours, check. We booked 4 nights with 1st alaska outdoor school and was not disappointed. Saw the lights with Ronn and Marketa. When you arrive you MUST go with them on their photo tour. They are experts at teaching you how to shoot the lights.... More

We wife and I went on the Arctic Circle Tour at the end of Feb 2013. The van came and picked us up from our accommodation on the outskirts of Fairbanks and when we opened the door it turned out then we were the only guests attending. Filling the rest of the van were Ralf (the company owner) and four... More

Booked a non-refundable northern lights excursion and luckily 1st Alaska cancelled (and we received a refund) the tour due to fog and snow weather issues. Rent a car at the airport and go to Ester Dome or Murphy Dome or Cleary Summit (all easily found on a map or with a chat with your hotel receptionist) on your own at... More

Just left Fairbanks, AK and had several great tours with 1st Alaska – Dog sledding with Aurora viewing, Aurora viewing from Murphy Dome, Chena Hot Springs, Fairbanks City Tour & Aurora Viewing from Chandalar Ranch. Our group was really lucky and saw the Aurora 3 of 4 viewing nights. The last night at Chandalar Ranch, the lights really danced for... More

We joined three activities, arctic circle + northern light; Chena hot spring+northern light; Ice fishing +northern light. Tour guides Christopher and Sam were both very caring and knowledgeable. They were trying quite hard to letting us see the northern lights and we did! They did not rush us so we could take lots of pics. Ice fishing was not their... More

We booked the aurora viewing and dinner tour and could not have been happier. Most tours to lodges are spent in a room with a bus load of strangers waiting for something to happen. This tour took us to a mushers cabin where the six of us had a good dinner, good conversation and front row seats (inside or out)... More
