Sirius Sled Dogs is located near the top Of Murphy Dome about 25 miles northwest of Fairbanks. It's a beautiful scenic drive culminating in what we believe to be the best of Alaska. Discover off the grid living at our cabin on Lincoln Ridge. An expansive view of Denali and the Alaska range are visible to the south. Murphy Dome is visible to the north where the Aurora often rises as each night falls in winter. « less

By somewhat of a coincidence we ended up - thankfully - twice in one day at Josh and Nita's. For the dog mushing school, we booked an excursion with 1st Alaska Outdoor School, who primarily work with Josh and Nita (and a couple of other non-competitive runners, I understand) as they like the philosophy of the dogs being well socialized... Josh and Nita welcomed us to their home and a beautiful home cooked meal. We loved our moonlit sled ride, no Aurora sadly despite a solar flare a few days earlier and high hopes. But you know what, it just didn't matter. The evening at the beautiful log cabin rates as one of the best experiences of a 3.5 week... More

The evening started with a wonderful hand made dinner by Josh and Nita. Food was really great- even a hand-made pie. While dinner was cooking, we were able to play with the huskies in the cabin and have a glass of wine. Josh and Nita made us feel so welcome! After dinner, we suited up and went for a 6... More

To start out my communication with Nita and Josh was easy and after some guidance I booked the overnight riding tour. They picked me up from the airport and were going to drop me off there because those were the last 2 days of my trip, and luckily Josh's mom was in town and her and I had the same... More

Wonderful in every way, the highlight of our mid-March aurora-viewing trip. Friendly, welcoming hosts; generous, tasty dinner; outstanding viewing location; unforgettable midnight dogsled ride (with the aurora above!).

THE MIDNIGHT DOG MUSHING DINNER WAS THE HIGHLIGHT OF OUR TRIP!!! Sam our driver, Nita and Josh our mushers and now friends and 23 dogs were fantastic!!! The visit and dog mushing were so much fun but the highlight was when Mike, Josh, Nita, the 16 dogs and I dropped down in the little valley and we saw the northern... More

Nita and Josh are incredible hosts, we had an amazing sled dog trip with them. We ended up doing the night time aurora tour. Josh picked us up from our B&B around 9pm and took us out into the wilderness to the cabin he built with Nita. There we were greeted with a warm fire, a glass of wine, some... More

We joined their three hour dog mushing tour. Nita and Josh were really nice, kind, caring and knowledgeable, they love their dogs from hearts! Their dogs are all real Huskies which was really important, as my parents finally decided to join another company in very last minute, so we did not have time to call Nita, turned out that their... I spent a wonderful night viewing the Aurora from Nita & Josh's cabin. Even though Fairbanks was cloudy, the skies up on Murphy's Dome were clear and we had a spectacular light show. We took a bracing dogsled ride through the woods before our midnight dinner of creamy salmon pasta. The cabin was warm and welcoming for our small party.... More

Before you sign up for an Aurora Viewing tour, ask the company how many people will be sharing this experience with you. The most normal answer is 50 -60 people (think bus load) you have never met before wait in the same room for something to happen. However at Sirius Sled Dogs you will spend the time with maybe 6...
