Being on the site of the battle and imaging what it must have been like. There is a museum in the Mission which makes it come alive.

Any visit to this spectacular part of KZN is always well worth the troble to ride out there. The roads are not always good, but I have driven it many times before. The tale of the death-defying two young officers is always a sure drawcard for especially Britsh military history buffs. Dramatic view of the Drift from the grave.
We came here largely because my wife is a huge fan of the film Zulu and we wanted to see the locations for ourselves.
The battlefield trips (we went to Isandlwana and Rorkes Drift) were memorable - Andrew and Charl were both very knowledgeable and took us round the battlefields explaining things in detail - spellbinding and a little humbling...

Love it all! Most of the party climbed to the top of Isandlwana, and amazingly another visitor (who we caught up with at giant's castle) photographed us from below and emailed it to us. We then walked the Trial which was really scenic and a great experience.
Fabulous location and experience, the history story telling was brilliantly evocative ...our room looked across to Isandlwana and was lovely, the library I could have spent a week in with it's super books and stunning position.A warm welcome, excellent food and great service made this a memorable holiday.
Difficult place to find if you don't have a guide. Our Guide was informative and quite knowledgeable.
