The house is pretty much the way it looked the day Bess Truman died. A real insight into the simple way of life the Truman's cherished.

The tour was $4, but we had senior citizen memberships that I bought 4 years ago and they admitted two for free. The guide was personable and seemed to really like what he was doing. We couldn't believe that the furniture and things in the house were not replicas, but the actual things that Harry and Bess used when they...

Between the Home and Museum, you get to really know the man and his life. An amazing story that every American should know. The grave sites in the courtyard was very beautiful and well maintained--a real must to see in Independence!!
The visitor's center was nothing to write home about, but the tour of the home itself was fantastic. We bought our tickets, which were only $4 for adults, watched the film, and then drove over to the home, which is five blocks away. We weren't allowed to take pictures inside the home, plus we had to turn off our cell...

I greatly enjoyed the ranger-led tour of Harry Truman's house. The house is frozen in time. At any moment, you expect Mr. and Mrs. Truman to walk in the front door. Much of that is due to Mrs. Truman refusing to move the president's possessions after he died. According to our guide, Mr. Truman's hat and overcoat are hung in...

The Truman Home is part of the National Park Service. Good information available to read and see, although I wish our guide had provided more insight on our tour. The Noland House across the street is self guided but has nice displays about Truman's life and his courtship of Bess.
Only had a short amount of time in Independence, so instead of the library, I did the historic site. The movie was very informative, and the tour of the house was excellent. Very good park guide.
Wonderful place to visit and learn about our President Harry S Truman. Many displays to see. See his home as it was when he passed away. Kitchen clock was stopped at the minute of his death.
To visit the Truman House, you first go to the visitor's center a couple of blocks away and buy tickets. We had a senior citizen with us, so she bought a National Park pass - it's only $10 and it gets you and up to 4 adults into the exhibit (kids are free), plus it's good for the rest of...

The Truman house and the house opposite, takes us back in time. The staff guiding us through the Truman House was excellent. The place is also very well maintained. I nearly felt I saw President Truman having his breakfast in the kitchen.
In addition to the Truman House as walk around Independence, makes one go back to the times of...
