Olbrich rivals any botanical gardens we have ever visited for the professionalism of its presentation and the care with which it is maintained. Our June visit was highlighted by the peonies. As others have noted, they were absolutely amazing. One of the more subtle features are the many "secluded" spots where you may linger for a while on one of... More

We stopped on a Saturday in June to see the gardens. The peonies were in bloom and were absolutely amazing. The mix of perennials and annuals is well done. There were several weddings taking place so there were some sections of the gardens that you couldn't see, but other than that it was a lovely way to spend an hour... More

We just visited the outdoor portions of the botanical gardens and enjoyed the blooms and trees. We were glad they had most of the plants identified with labels. Highlights were the pagoda, the mammoth cottonwood trees , the herb garden, and the Rock garden. Oh... And it was free !!

Large and spacious. Free (except the atrium) Very nice place on a spring, summer or fall day. Great to walk around. Free parking and near the lake. Many different trees, flowers, plants and birds.

Madison's Olbrich Botanical Gardens was a revelation. As well as being a traditional botanical garden with a wealth of beautiful plants and flowers to see, there is a magnificent Thai Pavilion, gilded with gold leaf and accompanied by a beautiful reflection pond and some small Thai sculptures. The setting is so peaceful and quiet that one easily forgets how close... More

I have been to many gardens in many states and countries, and this one really runs away with a top prize. Amazing peonies, wild flowers, water features and a conservatory with tropical things I have never before seen. You can easily spend hours. I only wish I could come back often to see what is blooming because it changes of... More

The staff welcomed us as we entered. The flowers and gardens are beautiful as are the ponds and the Thai pavillion. You can get the greatest pictures here. I had never seen yellow peonies and they have beautiful ones. The purples and pinks along the pool with dolphin statues are gorgeous. The Thai pavillion is so beautiful and there are... More

I've attended lots of different locations for weddings but this is a very special place for that purpose. Why bring in all the flowers when you can go to the flowers. There are different events held here as well and it's always a great place to visit!

First off, its free. If you want to go see the butterflies I think it's like $2, but walking in the gardens is great. Its beautiful and just a nice place to walk with friends and family. You can even take a book and relax in the grass or a sketch book to draw. I really love going here, one... More
