Wren's Nest is the home and museum of Joel Chandler Harris, best-known for his Uncle Remus books. What an interesting and educational 90 minutes spent with a very iinformed guide who obviously loves introducing the family to the museum guests. All of the house is original with furniture, paintings, news articles from the Harris house. More

Joel Chandler Harris produced some wonderful stories; the Wren's Nest is part of Atlanta's literary history and should be maintained and preserved. More

It seems that everyone I talk to that lives here has little or no knowledge of this jewel in SW ATL!! Though the house could use some fixing up in places, it's steeped in history. Joel Chandler Harris lived in this beautiful house and listened to the stories shared by the African American workers there and on plantations he worked... More

Everyone should visit the Wren's Nest at least once and make sure to do it on Saturdays for the storytelling. I have visited twice and the storytelling is the highlight of the trip. Also had lunch at the Q-Time restaurant within walking distance. Pretty good food and nice folks. If you are a fan of Brer Rabbit and Song of... More

When you visit the Wrens Nest, be sure to go on a day the storyteller is there. He is fabulous telling several Uncle Remus stories. Your kids will love it. The house is full of antiques and items original to the house. A great outing for visitors and locals too. More

I was in Atlanta for an overnight trip. I saw the Braves play and stopped at the Wren's Nest before I headed home. This is a wonderful house museum. It's a step back in time. Mr. Harris' bedroom has been untouched since 1908. Before this, I had not thought any about the Uncle Remus tales. This was an awesome perspective... More
