For opera or jazz concerts, for Broadway musicals and regional ballet, the Capitol Theater is "the" place in Salt Lake City. We've experienced them all, and over 20 years, have marveled at the comfort and sound in this luxurious old venue, renovated to "newness."

My wife and I have been to several Broadway type shows at the Capitol theatre. Most recently Jersey Boys - Great show BTW! The theatre is a classic, but there are several drawbacks: Lack of parking - so go early or you'll have to walk a ways. Inadequate bathrooms - especially for the ladies. There is always a line out... I'm a bit biased as I have performed here a few times with my hypnosis show, BUT I have attended many operas, plays and musicals and the Capitol Theatre is top notch! If you have a chance to catch a performance of any kind there do not hesitate! Enjoy!

I have seen many operas and ballets all over the world and this venue houses some of the best performers. I have seen both ballets and operas here. The Theatre itself is quite beautiful though a bit on the small side. The ceiling is a work of art. It would almost be worth it to come just to look at... More

This is a beautiful venue with great concerts. I have seen several shows here and even seats in the back are still pretty decent.

A little on the small side, but it was great for us because we were in the second to the last row in the back. I would like to sit closer next time though. Bathrooms upstairs and down, but only 4 stalls upstairs. Not sure how many down. Concessions and dance-related items were for sale before the ballet began and... More

I had never been to a ballet before. I'm so glad i went. Such an art form, hosted in this historic theatre, makes the spectacle all the more dramatic. I like how the crowd actually respects the request to turn off cell phones and such. Additionally, on exiting the theatre there's a sign that thanks spectators for their theatre etiquette.... More

The interior is quite old yet very beautiful. All the seats are good seats and even though it is small its a great place to see a show.

A bit run down and seen better days. Could do with a renovation - maybe then it might look great like the Pantages in Los Angeles.
