Whether you are Mormon or not this is really an amazing place to see with the incredible granite structures, history of the church and the ability to see a beautiful oversize marble carving of Jesus which is set in a blue celestial painted dome. Make sure to go into the tabernacle area and close your eyes and imagine all the... More

My friend thought I was joking when I said I wanted to see this but he loved today's Mothers day special event that had famous singer Bryn Terfel as a guest artist as he is recording a CD with the choir. Superb morning. The emotion when he sang "How Great thou art" was thrilling. What an event and were so... More

Attended "Music and the Spoken Word" on a Sunday Morning. Apparently the longest running national broadcast in the US. What a glorious experience - and for no charge! Wanted to stand up and cheer at the end.

We went to the taping of the "Music and the Spoken Word" on Sunday at 9:30. (Rehearsals start an hour earlier, but you must be in your seat by 9:15.) Beautiful music and inspirational message. We were in the historic Tabernacle, but during the summer, I know that they move the performance into the larger Conference Center to accommodate the... More

Free choir practice - a bit boring as many parts were rehearsed over and over again, but the acoustics was amazing

I just remembered that I visited the Mormon Tabernacle in Salt Lake City Utah and also at the same time I was there for an organ recital too and the Mormon Tabernacle is very inspirational and it is also really beautiful inside and out but when you go in it is just absolutely awe inspiring and the big pipe organ... We attended the Thursday evening rehearsal in the Tabernacle. It was wonderful to listen to the marvellous voices singing a variety of songs. It was interesting to see the conductor refining the performances in advance of the weekly broadcasts.

I sat at an evening concert on Sat and a morning session on Sunday. Both fantastic. The acoustics of the hall is amazing. The choir and the pipe organs are beautiful. They are all free! I went to buy the CD of the choirs from a book store on the other side of the street.

Heard the choir practicing and it was an amazing experience, once in a lifetime! Only there with maybe 50 people while they were practicing, just happened to be in the building and they asked us if we would like to come in. Amazing!
