While traveling in Whiting Maine, I noticed a sign for Monica's Chocolates in Lubec. Having a bit of free time, I decided to drive down and take a look/taste. I was warmly greeted and fed samples of the truffles. They are delicious! I bought some for my sister's birthday party that weekend, plus some dipped apricots, turtles and sea salt... More

The first time I went to Roosevelt Campobello International Park I just drove by this place thinking maybe I'd stop in on the way back. The 2nd time I went I finally did stop in. I was glad I did. It's a very interesting place and you would not expect to find someone from Peru selling chocolates in this location... More

My husband and I stopped in after reading an article about the owner in a magazine. We are so glad we did! The owner is a delight! Everything looked sooooo good, it was hard to decide what confection to buy! We loved every single morsel!

We happened to be driving by on vacation and something made me stop to check it out. I went in and began looking. I picked up a necklace and earrings set and one of the gals happened to be sharing samples... one small taste and it was heavenly! I purchased some and thanked the gal and we drove away. I... More

If you drive by thinking it's just another chocolate store, STOP! Not only will you find the most delicious handmade chocolate using her own recipes, this could be your one-stop shop for all kinds of gifts - jewelry, handknits, and more! I purchased, consumed (with my family), and loved her new dark chocolate caramels with sea salt and the dark... More

If you travel through central PA, try Wolfgang's. There chocolate is much tastier. The place was very nice but we had hoped for a higher quality of chocolate.

My husband and I had heard about Monica's chocolates locally, and stopped in on our way out of Lubeck yesterday. The variety of flavors and sophistication of the look of the chocolates was amazing in that locale. And the chocolates are delicious. But best of all was the item I'd seen listed on a sign on her front door: Peruvian... More

This place was full of people - but they pre-package everything, making it feel mass produced versus freshly made - and there are no small packages offered - ie. 2 or 3 pieces. A box of truffles starts at about 16.00 and I didn't feel like spending that much if I didn't know whether I liked their product or not.... More

My wife and I stopped in at Monica's on the way to see the famed red-striped West Quoddy Lighthouse. A few signs spaced along the highway drew our attention. We are so glad that we did. Monica's Chocolates is in a small house by the roadside. She greeted us with a strong accent at the door and asked if we'd... More

This was a big surprise. As we were driving out of Lubec, we stopped and were thrilled with what we found! The owner makes her own chocolate - and what a treat! She also serves lunch to her customers - by reservation only. I plan to eat lunch there on our next visit to Lubec. I was also impressed with... More
