While this "monument" is highly south after, I found it to be a lot of walking with little umph. Lacking in luster (little guidance through the property), signage & other information along the way made our visit less meaningful. The kids & my parents were tired easily and we found several homeless Native Americans on & off property. Climbing the... More

Had a wonderful guide who made the mission come alive. Very beautiful and the architecture impressive. Small gift shop. Enjoy this piece of history.

It's fun to compare this little mission with the churches that were built in Europe during the same period. As lovely as it is, the interior is rustic and the decorations are the crude and naive style of the location and era. It is in very good condition, and you need to take a few minutes to really study the... More

It is incredible to think that this amazing church has stood in this remote desert location for as long as it has. I have visited many churches in various parts of the world and this must rank amongst the best. The wall frescoes are amazing as is the altar screen. Look for the cat and the mouse on the front... When we walked into the Mission, it felt like we were walking into a sacred place. Icons of saints were everywhere. I just sat and rested in the tranquility surrounding me.

We went to Mothers Day mass here and it was a wonderful experience. A Church built in the 1700's in the US!

Any visit to Tucson is not complete without a trip to the mission, one of the most beautiful churches in the country.

I am by no means a religious person, but the Mission is a great visit. Make sure you visit the shops outside of it. Also, if you go on a good day, you can get fry bread from the locals.

Amazing this was built so long ago. Well worth taking the time to visit, and lots to learn. Easy parking, and we had limited time so just popped in for a bit, but nevertheless learned and saw a lot.
