We took the SanAntonioWalks historic San Antonio tour after reading about it on TripAdvisor.com. I'm so glad we did. Our guide was incredibly informed and made the history come alive. The tour was $16 each and lasted 2 hours. It was the best money we spent on our trip. If you like history, don't miss it. We just happened to... More

If you're interested in history, you really must do this walk with San Antonio Walks. Beginning in front of the Alamo, our guide, Gary, introduced our two-hour tour with an explanation of the events leading up to the siege of 1836 in such depth that I could almost see and hear the battle that had taken place on the very... Please think of booking the San Antonio Walks tour for the first thing you do when you're in San Antonio! This is what I did with my daughters when we arrived for our 5 day stay and we don't regret one minute of it! Gary was a walking history guide as we started in front of the Alamo and went... More

We had an appointed tour at 9.45 and were the only one. We had the guide for ourselves and we learned so much about San Antonio history and Texas history. The guide didn't stop talking for the whole 2h and he had great anecdotes and stories about the Alamo and the river walk. I really enjoyed it and recommend it.

Booked the history walking tour while we were in town for a weekend get-away. We showed up at the appointed hour (9:45 am) and wondered where everyone was. Turned out that we were the only two booked for the tour. Instead of cancelling for too few, we got a personal 2-hour walk through the city center by a guide that... More

This is an excellent tour and we highly recommend it for both residents of San Antonio and visitors. The historical details are very well-researched and the tour pulls together all those small details you learned (and promptly forgot) in school to make a coherent story that is much more comprehensible than just a set of facts. The pace was good,... More

We took the architectural tour. Very interesting in San Antonio with a diversity of architectural styles the tour was ok but a bit superficial as it tends to describe ornementation and not architects and architectural currents of the era. Could be more interesting to talk about architects background and relation with clients who commisionned them for example.

We only had one day to get around San Antonio and we discovered a place with incredible hospitality so that you can have as much fun as you can while you are in San Antonio. We walked, took the boat tour, the bus tour, went to the Alamo, of course, had nice food and met people who really know how... More

My husband and I took this 2-hour walking tour in mid October with Gary. He was an extremely knowledgeable and interesting tour guide in this beautiful neighborhood. The houses we discussed represented many different styles of architecture which he explained clearly, and each had a story he told about its history and occupants. This is one of the best architectural... More

Great Tour. Highly Recommend. My wife and I arranged for a private 4 hour tour on Friday, our first day in San Antonio. We are not history buffs, by any stretch, but we wanted to get a deeper understanding of the area. More than we would normally get on a superficial quick tour or on any self guided trips. Gary...
