The behind the scenes tour of the Santa Fe Opera House was really fabulous! We were taken back stage to see costumes and wigs being made. We talked to someone building a set for the summer season and were able to get all kinds of interesting historical information from the well informed docent. The 1 hour tour was only $10... More

It's fun to discover this opera, just outside of Santa Fe, in the middle of the desert. The place is unusual, original and stylish. Only the sound leaves a bit to be desired.

Just got done seeing my first show at the Santa Fe Opera.....what an amazing venue. Perched on top of a hill, north of town, open-air with a roof over all the seating. I would recommend this venue to anyone for any type of show! Very intimate feeling to the place, everyone was more than courteous to us newbies... Thank you... More

I saw my first opera in Santa Fe in high school, and then I worked as a volunteer usher for two years. That experience allowed me to enjoy many more operas than I would have been able to afford, and, although I didn't have a seat of my own, I was thrilled to sit near the petunia beds and listen... You'll see all sorts, folks dolled up in Lucchese boots, then folks wearing Birkenstocks. The high enders as well as the contra chic. The performances are world class, as is the tail gating. Not so much out of the back of an SUV like you'd find at a Bronco's game, but typically next to a collectible Ferrari. Great people watching... More

lots written, not much to add, but the experience is really wonderful, if you are a fan or not - the people, the place, the simple elegance of the event, the performance - all of it. We go every year and love it - a grandchild who reaches 12 and can stay awake - but not necessary for having a... More

Besides the innovative to standard operas beautifully cast and performed, you will be awed by the opera house's setting in the mountains. Excellent sight lines from all seats. Amazing savings if you get a subscription, which offers many choices. Bring a jacket because temperatures drop significantly at night. A very short drive from downtown Santa Fe, or take the sensibly... More
