This was the first time I have ever been here and I am coming back. I watched the Book Club and for the period of time I was there the world seemed to stop. I didn't think about anything except the performance I was watching. It was a great way to get away from the stress of every day life,... More

Overall the performances here are excellent. Every now and then, they miss the mark, but in general they present interesting plays that are very well done.

The Marx theater does not have a bad seat due to the size of the theater and the slope of the floor. This has been a year of transition, and I expect next year to have an even better set of plays. We haven't always been impressed with the choice of plays, but the staging and lighting and production are... More

My friends and I get season ticket packages for the plays each year and we always enjoy going together. There is not a bad seat in the whole theatre and we also like to have a drink from the bar either before the show or during intermission. You can even take your drink with you to your seat which is... More

Artistic Director Blake Robison, like long-time AD Ed Stern before him, picks a pretty wide variety of material for each season. There is always at least one musical, one comedy review, one edgy drama, one classic drama, and one "concept" play. Depending on your theater preferences, this usually means there will be at least one production each season that you... More

Of course, this is jewel in Cincinnati's crown. I have been a subscriber for many years and have never failed to enjoy any production of the Playhouse. Intimate seating, good acoustics, a great production staff for lighting, costumes, etc., and the setting atop Mt. Adams, just add to the fine acting and direction consistently on display here. I look forward... More

I've been here many times and have always loved the experience. In addition to the plays which are wonderful, the area the playhouse is located in is visitor worthy. Great views of the city.

The Playhouse theatre's stand out for a few reasons. 1) They are small, so you are close to the actors. 2) The sets are designed very well and cover ~180 degrees. That makes the whole experience more interesting. However, sometimes the shows can vary a little in acting quality. Overal, a big + on the Cincinnati art scene.

I haven't been here since I was younger, but it's a fantastic place to get a bit of culture in Cincinnati and it's less expensive than shows at the Aronoff. Mt. Adams is a great place to find unique restaurants.

I took my daughter to a show and we had such a great time. Loved the atmosphere and we had great seats. Couldn't have asked for a better experience for our weekend away! Can't wait to do it again!
