Great view up on this mountain. If you like to hike try her out. You can see the size of the crater from up here. And see how large it is.

A lot of nature at la india dormida, birds, reptiles, butterflys all in just one place, they need tour guides; no signs into trail. becomes really easy get lost, always carry a bottle of wáter.
Nice hike if you are looking for something on the shorter spectrum. Bring sunblock because there is no shade really. It's pretty hard to find the trail head. We hiked up the back from the cross and then down through the waterfalls and painted rocks. It's a longer route but better because you get a bit of shade at the...

This short hike (2 to 3 hours) gives you an impressive view over the old volcano crater. It gets a bit windy up there...
Agree with earlier reviews regarding problems finding the correct trail. We heeded the advice on TA about getting good directions but still managed to hike up the wrong mountain. The correct trail is very poorly marked. In fact, it's not marked at all at la Piedra del Sapo where you are supposed to make a left turn. Made the left...

If you look hard you can maybe visualize a profile made up of the tops of mountains (or possibly the crater wall, I don't know which and really it makes no difference). And we went out of our way for this?
Four of us went hiking up la India Dormida....it takes about 1 hr. 20 mins or so, at a fairly relaxed pace. It is not a strenuous hike, but neither is it a walk in the park. You walk up alongside a river, which is nice, but not anything special. It is only as you crown the peak, and come...

We had to make several attempts to find trails, in. It was very frustrating. Overall, we did not feel the hiking experience was worth the trip but did enjoy some of the few other things the area has to offer.
Best to start early as the sun is very strong. Fab views. You can go up the path from near the baseball court. The path is about sketchy at the top, but you can always retrace your steps if you get lost.
It was an easy climb with a great view over the town. Start from the painted rock and go left over the bridge, and stay left. Steep and rewarding hike. But only took 45 minutes or so. You don't need a guide.
