Apart from the nightmare (council run) car park at the bottom and some of the filthiest public toilets (again council run) at the bottom, this is a fantastic half day out. The cable car is great and the facilities at the top are fun and informative. The lady who gave the cavern tour was great. The food and drink are... More

One has to cross the rail track and take the track running parallel to this then cross over the road and climb quite a steep incline to the ticket office for the cable car ride up to the Heights of Abraham. The cars are in a series of three fixed to a continuous looped cable and the ride is magnificent... More

Its not every day you get to use a cable car as a form of transport so its a nice treat when you do so i would recommend trying the ride up to Abraham Heights. Regular trips up to the top, well organised and frequent with plenty of opportunities for budding photographers along the way. When you get there you can... More

Dear peterjoy Thank you very much for the feedback. Regrettably all car parking in the village is owned and managed by Derbyshire Dales District Council. However, we do recommend the use of public transport; there is a direct train service from Nottingham and Derby to Matlock Bath and we give a special discount to rail passengers. The bus service also... More

Having read other reviews and visited the site's website I really wasn't expecting this to be as interesting as it was. I visited with young children and the 2 play parks were excellent. The café/restaurant is very attractive with a balcony and great views. The children loved the cable car experience. The lead mine tour is interesting but rather long.... More

We visited this attraction on a recent four day break to the area to visit Chatsworth House. It was my husband's idea to go there (I am not comfortable with heights due to an accident many years ago!) but I am so glad he persuaded me to go. I felt quite uncomfortable when I first got into the cable car... More

Brought our grandson here for a visit. He loved the cable car ride and as he's under 5 he was free so that was a bonus! Very clean and good play areas for the kids. The cafe is decent and staff friendly. The cavern isnt the best have been to but Neil was very informative and witty so was well... More

Dear jonseyjames We are delighted that you enjoyed your visit. Thank you very much for the feedback regarding ‘rattling coins’, my apologies, this is definitely not company policy and I will be making sure it does not happen again. Yours sincerely Rupert Pugh Director – Heights of Abraham Ltd More

Visited with the family about a year ago and found it good value. To get into the park, you have a cable car ride across Matlock Bath and up the hill, which is good fun on its own. Good facilities, decent play area for kids, and the café is pretty good too - food quality and value well above most... More

Local attraction never been to,well worth the effort i'd only ever walked up there before and that was hard work. The cable cars give a great view and i took loads of photos. Usual cafe and gift shop, forgivable as we sat outside looking at a great view having a snack. Several good viewing platforms and talking telescopes. If its a... More

Loved the views and the trip in the cable car was quite exciting and a little bit scary! Was disappointed with the trip to the cavern because our group wasfor 60 people. In my opinion 20 at a time would be plenty. It was very difficult to hear the guide and because there was several children, it was quite noisy.... More

Loved all the views, the cable car attendants were great, was very scared when we came to a full stop on the cable car, and the wind got up and swayed us about, but then I hate heights, my hubby loved it, think I was very brave. to even do it, but very worth while in all a great experience.
