"Very fascinating Mayan structures. The Kukulcan pyramid is considered one of the new 7 wonders of the world. The observatory structure is outstanding! On site is the ancient ball court that wars were settled at. Near the structure where the Mayan warriors were quartered is the sacrificial alter ..."where a beating heart was fed to the gods.

"What a stunning experience! Swim a hundred feet below the surface level in a magnificent round deep blue pool of fresh water... Thousands of small black catfish swim with you and it's a surreal experience looking up into the heavens ... No wonder these places were sacred... Must have a costume and e..."ven better to have swim goggles to look underwater at the catfish that swim with you ... If you are slow, you can cup them in your hands ...
Near Chichen Itza so a must do together

"We went to Chichen Itza with Olympus Tours from Riveria Maya. It took about 2.5 hours to get there - and it was a long long ride.
But when we arrived there, it was all worth it.
IT was amazing. It was very very hot to walk around in the weather - and there is not a lot of shade.
Bring lot..."s of water.
Bring lots of dollar bills too.
They are thousands of vendors inside the walls - and everything is $1.00.
They had so many amazing things.
I bought a chain that has my name written in Mayan letters - I will have that forever.
I bought that on the bus - and they made it at same shop.
I love it.
The thing I bought for $1.00 broke before it arrived home.
But it was cheap.
It was quite an experience to go there.
But it is a long trip from Riveria Maya.
I would recommend going because it is one of the wonders of the world - and it was breathtaking.
