Isla Mujeres Museum Capitan Dulche. This Museum is dedicated in loving memory of Captain Ernesto Dulche Escalante, founder or the 5th Naval Region (Isla Mujeres). Captain Dulche´s Maritime Museum treasures a big part of Isla Mujeres history, this is documented in a great photo collection of over 150 that have never been seen before. The Museum also contains an excellent collection of anchors, buoys, chains and lanterns, maritime tools and two projection rooms, showing one video of the famous mexican diver Ramon Bravo and the even more famous Jacques Cousteau. It also has the largest collection of model ships and metates in the whole mexican caribbean.

Richart Sowa built Joysxee, the Floating Bottle Island by himself, with over 150,000 plastic bottles. Shown on MTV Extreme Cribs and Ripley's Believe It or Not, the island that floats on bottles is an ecological masterpiece. Everything on the island was built with recycled materials from the three story house, to the out door bar. Come tour Joysxee and meet the incredible Richie, a real life Robinson Crusoe. An experience you can only find on Isla Mujeres.

"I think the is the best place in the Mayan Riviera to do your dolphin swim. The area is really set up for it. Our swim here was a lot of fun but we came on a very busy day and time. The staff handled it the best they could and resulted in a great swim. One of our dolphins was horney so we kept losin..."g him because he swam over to the female, but the staff gave us extra time as a result with them. Very fun and a nice pool here also.

"After a bad experience in Hawaii a couple of years ago I wasn’t sure I’d ever want to dive again. I was also dealing with a torn rotator cuff which meant I wouldn’t be able to bear any weight with my shoulder. But we decided to give it a try while we were in Isla. Based on TripAdvisor reviews we dec..."ided to check out Carey and the (then) top-ranked dive shop. Within five minutes of walking into Carey and talking to Gilbert I knew this was the one. Gilbert said he could take us out the next day with just one other couple, and promised that he would take the time and attention necessary to make me feel comfortable underwater, a promise he made good and then some. The first dive shop we talked to wanted $47 to do a refresher course, but Carey offers the refresher for free if you buy a two-tank dive. We watched a PADI video, then went for a practice dip in shallow water on the way to the dive site. Before we left Gilbert went over exactly what we were going to do on the practice “dive,” whi...
