Railay Beach Attractions: What to do in Railay Beach
"Best climbing experience ever! My friend and I had planned the trip to Krabi to experience the rock climbing scene over at Railay. We booked the climb package offered at our guesthouse and its inclusive of climbing equipments (etc. harness, climb shoes, chalk bag), transportation and lunch if you ar..."e doing a full day climb. Our climb was being led by guides: Chong, Bale and one more guy with curly locks from King Climbers located at Railay East. The group size was relatively well matched with the number of guides, like in my case we had around 10 participants to 2-3 guides so everyone gets a try at each route. It was a low peak season so there's not too many climbers at any one climbing spot. We signed up for a half day climb initially but decided to extend our climb to a full day one as the climb was real good and the guides are real good at guiding. "What an incredible way to spend the day! We opted for the Deep Water Free Solo, which had me scared at first, but the professionalism displayed by Michael and the crew quickly put me at ease. Quality equipment, solid climbing advice and a fun itinerary. I never felt in danger even though a storm see..."med to be rolling by most of the day (which never actually hit us) and the activity was inherently dangerous. I highly recommend climbing with Railay Rock Climbing Shop.

East Railay beach is not a swimming beach, it faces the Krabi side, has poor circulation during the high season when winds blow from West to East. The beach itself is shallow and muddy. There are no water treatment plants on the Peninsula making sewage a problem without good ocean circulation. West Railay is a lovely beach. It gets good winds and circulation, but can be a bit crowded with long-tail commuter boats and larger craft going in an out. Phra Nang is the destination beach for enjoyment by anyone who knows the area. It is a short 15-20 minute walk from West Railay and shorter walk from the East side. There is one ...
