"The trip tuned out to be a pleasant surprise.
You are walking on the island with black lava formations and equally black marine iguanas. During the walk on the island the guide points out many features, iguanas nests, lets you watch them, their natural habitat.
The trail ended up at a small beac..."h with baby sealion and lava heron, then we re traced the steps to the shark alley, as the tide was coming in, one shark showed up.
Then we were taken to snorkel to a nearby site with some tropical fish, turtle, several sharks and spotted eagle ray.
On the way back to the pier we were passing rocks on which were nesting blue booted boobies, and two small penguins.

"The flat volcanic landscape with natural ocean cut bridges and lava rock island pathways was visually amazing to see. The sparse cactus and plant growth along with the close up views of birds and other wildlife made me feel like I was on a mysterious distant planet. We had an opportunity to leave ..."the boat and walk around on this very rocky and cliff like terrain -- which made me really wish I had a walking stick -- there was absolutely nothing to hang onto while taking giant unleveled steps across the volcanic rocks except for tall cactus plants.
After visiting the lava structures, we snorkeled in a more open area nearby -- and what an unforgettable experience! Sharing the ocean with real underwater creatures was unreal - giant sea turtles, huge string rays and manta rays, dozens of white tipped sharks, along with schools of glittering fish and brightly colored ocean plants. This was not your regular TV viewing experience! I will never ever forget it. If you have an opportunit...

"I loved this trip. We rented a bike from our hostel and cycled there, it took a fair few hours. There are a lot of stops on the way which are beautiful.
The worst part about this trip... It's baking hot ALL the time so cycling is exhausting, not to mention you are always on gravel or sand. A lot is..." also up hill. Because we were so tired, hot and just knackered by the time we got to the wall we weren't too fussed about it.
My suggestion is to either get in a taxi (with your bikes- the taxis are all 4x4 truck type things so will be able to put your bikes in) look at the wall then cycle back and stop off on your way back. Or if you do decide to cycle up go in the afternoon. It stays light quite late so if you go from 4pm it is guaranteed to be cooler, we left at 9am and it felt like midday heat even at that point.
I also suggest to bring a big 2L bottle of water for yourself and some kind of sweets for an energy boost.
Overall a good trip, but could have been made better if more well...
