  "An amazing place! Not a massive walker but really enjoyed the gentle walk to the main water fall. The waterfall itself is spectacular. All it costs is the £4 to park - value for money at its best, and if you don't want to pay the £4 you can walk there. Highly recommended!"

  "I hadn't heard of Aira Force until my friend mentioned it. I saw pictures and thought it was worth a visit and am glad I did. The walk is not easy so make sure you have sensible shoes but its worth the trek. (If youre an ardent walker its probably easy but as a true 'townie' who is more used to walk..."ing M&S than up and down hill its a moderate walk.) I had been hoping to see some of the famed red squirrels but they appeared to be shy the day we visited and so we didnt see any. The waterfalls themselves were truly spectacular, I find the sound of running water so calming thus making it seem like a truly ideal place to visit. There is a cafe at the start of the park, near the front of the car park which served lovely scones and tea - ideal after the fresh air and exercise. Clean toilets nearby too which is always a positive point. £4 to park or free to NT members so great value for money. " More >

  "We were scheduled to lead a walk over Helm Crag, High Raise, Sergeant Man and Blea Rigg but there were strong winds and a forecast of gales, so we used the contingency of a low level walk around Loughrigg. We set out from White Moss Walks car park at the north end of Rydal Water, through White Moss..." Woods, through the gate and out onto Loughrigg Terrace with wonderful views of Grasmere (lake and village) and Helm Crag. At the end of the terrace the group decided not to partake in a “there and back” excursion to the summit. We stayed up above the lakeside path and when we crossed the road we used the permissive path through the grounds of High Close to come out above the village of Elterwater, to which we descended. From there we walked on the Cumbria Way, alongside the river to Skelwith Bridge.
