"A must-see when you are in San Gimignano, just for the beautiful frescoes that cover every inch of the church interior. It is fascinating how biblical stories are portrayed by the medieval artists. Dont forget to pick up a brochure and read about the slightly bizarre Santa Fina tale. A combo tick..."et allows entrance to the religious art museum across the square, which is also of interest.

"Climb the tower for a view of the town and lovely Tuscan countryside. San Gimignano, although a bit touristy, is wonderful to explore. We spent the afternoon roaming the quaint sidestreets branching off from the charming plaza. The towers lend a "skyscraper" profile to the city that is unique amon..."g other Tuscany towns.

"This was probably our highlight on visiting the town on a wet and windy Thursday. Our visit wasn't helped by the weather, but having the beautiful medieval town totally over run with 'white van men' and market stalls obliterating the view of the piazzas and buildings, plus bus loads of tourists and ..."school parties, I would fully recommend an early morning or late afternoon visit to the town when they've all cleared off! But the walk to the Rocca down the quiet back alleys was lovely with wonderful views from the top, plus blissful peace and quiet - beware of visiting the town on market day (Thursday).
