Koldinghus was built in the middle of the 13th century, and in the centuries that followed it was one of Denmark's most important royal castles. In 1808 there was a fire that left the castle in ruins – a romantic relic. Today the castle has been restored and houses a museum which is a centre for cultural activities and special exhibitions of international standing.

"It blew much when we visited the very special landscape that is formed by a "walking" dune.
It was almost a minor sandstorm and our visit was therefore shortened a bit.
We also took a quick trip to Mårum Kirke. A special experience to see "nature against man"."
"Off the beaten path, a little bit hard to find at first but worth it. You park in the lot and walk less than 1/2 a mile to see it. If you are making the trip to Skagen, its worth stopping here and stretching your legs to see a bit of history and nature."
