"During evening of 10th May Ian freely gave of his time to give me/friend Dave plus 4 others an input via a powerpoint presentation of what happened on 1st July 1916 in the Mametz and Devonshire Trench areas
On 12th May he again gave his time for a whole morning - driving us around the above named
..."areas and showing us where it happened on that day
Both were excellent inputs
My friend was on his first visit to The Somme and Ian added greatly to his experience
I very much appreciated what he did and would say I am confident he will give other visitors similar inputs

"This was our third visit to Pots and Pieces. The place was packed but we managed to get a newly vacated table that was cleared immediately.
The staff were very polite and helpful, very welcoming. The cakes were delicious, the best carrot cake I have ever had and the tea was really good too. A ..."pot of assam tea leaves, which I found very refreshing. My husband had the fruit cake which looked lovely and moist and he soon polished it off!
We will definitely be back, the best coffee shop in Ross in our opinion

"Our guide, Jon, through In the Footsteps Battlefield Tours, met us at the Arras train station and guided us for the next eight hours around the area learning more about the Canadian contribution to World War One and about the experience of my great uncles in particular. John was very knowledgeable,..." went at our pace, and tailored the day to our interests. It was a thoroughly enjoyable, informative and moving experience. If we ever return to france, we would certainly arrange for another tour through In the Footsteps.
