"We went from Osorno to Entre Lagos and from there to Aguas Caliente. There we walked to trails in approx 6 hours which we really liked, one was taking us on a mountain top with an excellent view of the park. In Agua Caliente there was an information hut and the guy in there gave us excellent informa..."tion and was very polite, there is also a restaurant for people who want to eat there, including camping space. We did not like the pools, we would have liked it more natural, not tiled pools, but there is a very nice creek flowing by and people just dig holes where the warm water accumulates (the river water is very cold, only the ground water is hot) and then they just sit in there.
We recommend the park for a day trip, it was a very nice day.

"on February we visited Futaleufu on the Carretera Austral Chile and were booked to do rafting trip with "Patagonia Elements". Although we had experience travelling around the world, we did not have any experience rafting. We (three couples) met Christian (the owner and rafter) the day before for a b..."riefing. He was very sensitive to our concerns and gave us all the answers we needed. On the day of the rafting he and his team were very punctual they arranged all the gear in advance and were ready as planed. Christian took al the necessary safety precautions with accompanied boats to help those who fall of the boat. During the trip he conducted his team very professionally as well as gave us all the explanations we wanted. His English was very good and he mad our trip extremely enjoyable as well as safe. I Should mention that our trip was recorded on video and was mail to us later on.
If you are in the area and want to do rafting he is the guy that you should go to. He will make your ex...

"Who knew they had sequoia trees in South America? Not really, but the Alerce is the second oldest living thing on earth (after the bristlecone pine) at over 3700 years and looks for all the world like the sequoia. This a great place to hike off all the excess food and beer consumed during your thr..."ee week trip to Chile. There are two primitive but pleasant campgrounds at the southern unit of the park, one drive in and the other walk in. The drive to camp is set along the river valley and is surprisingly enjoyable with picnic shelters and running water bathrooms. Much better than the walk in campground. There are certain places in the park where you look up and see what looks like Yosemite valley towering above. The entrance road can be negotiated slowly in dry season in a regular car. Lots of blind curves on the one lane road! The river has some great places to take a dip, skinny or otherwise.
