"If you want to experience something different, Sungai Lembing Mines totally gives you that. To experience the tunnel and the darkness are very exciting. Besides, you may gain knowledge about the mines especially the history."
"Entry fee is RM30 for adults, RM15 for children (RM10 for school children in uniform). However when we were there, they have a 50% discount on the entry fee.
Before starting the tour, participants can wait at a covered area. Here, there are chairs to sit, fans to seek refuge from the hot weather ..."and also a television that provides some explanation related to the mines.
Guests will be able to experience the "tram" ride 80m into the mines. After that, it will be a walking tour (approx 420m). Wear covered shoes as there could be puddles created from the mountain water. Tall people please be mindful of the low height of the tunnel.
The mines tour is interactive and entertaining. Information regarding the mines and history of the town are available in Malay and English. Guests are also able to try out activities that took place in the mine during its heyday.
The walk in the tunnel was cooling and not suffocating at all. At the end of the tour, guests can pay RM5 for a certificat...

"I really enjoyed my time in Kuantan, in particular visiting the Tin Mine Tunnel Tour. It is definitely worth the trip to see. I actually visited the Museum first and then went to the tour, gave me a lot of background that helped me appreciate the tunnel tour even more. I hope one day I'll be able to..." take my family back with me to see the tour and meet the great mine tour staff. They have really put a lot of time and effort into preserving this important part of Malaysia's history, and I like the videos during the tour.
If you have time there is also a "food court" back in the town center across from the field. I had my first Mee Jawa there and loved it, as well as the Kari Paps. Try and find some Goreng Pisang if you want something sweet.
