Geralyn's plans for the future display of heirlooms in the attic are so exciting - we still can't believe we were able to venture into the attic! We have visited the homes of many other famous Americans, but have never enjoyed a visit as much as this one...we will be back! " More >

  "My wife and I went to the Seward House on the recommendation of my brother-in-law prior to a family wedding in Auburn. We're both very glad we did! This house is a historical gem - even if you are not a Civil War buff (and I am not) - this house will impress as an astonishingly well-preserved piec..."e of US history. Unlike most house/museums which have one or two original pieces of furniture, Seward house has all the original furnishings and books from the Seward Family. The upstairs is astonishing with its walls of orginal lithographs of from Seward's collection of individuals he met and hobnobbed with. (Note Andrew Jackson's lithograph - same image that appears on the $20 bill!) Admission is $8/adult, but is free on the first Fri evening of the month. We actually decided not to go on Fri evening, but rather Sat morning. This proved to be a good decision, as we avoided the crowds, had a virtually private tour, and extra time to look in amazement at the Seward rooms - noticing details... " More >
