Go to the bakers/supermarket in town in the morning to get stuff for lunch and take it with you as the people selling drinks have a monopoly so charge ridiculous prices!..."! If you are fit enough it is worth doing the full walk from Abraao and leaving at say 8 in the morning. You pass other beaches on the way and get a good sense of achievement when you get there. You can get the taxi boat back for 25R but have to wait until at least three people want to go. There are no toilets at Lopes Mendez so take some tissues or toilet roll with you as well. Enjoy the peace and go for a stroll along the beach (especially when the tide is in and there isn't lots of sand). " More >
