"We were a little concerned when we started out on our trip as we had read a few reports about the dangers of the drift snorkeling and expressed these to Bruno. Bruno assured us if we stuck with him and followed his instructions we would be fine and we were.
Unlike other some groups we saw (who we..."re directed into the water to drifted back with the current) Bruno took us out in the middle of the coral garden and got us to swim/walk against the current and get use to the coral etc. Then we followed him back down with the current drift snorkeling and, even thought the current was strong, we had the confidence to reach out and hold on the areas of coral and pull ourselves past safely as Bruno had shown us.

"I highly recommend this tour for a comprehensive tour in Raiatea, but for one part of the experience. It is a wonderful combination of a visit to a vanilla farm, a black pearl farm, a delicious lunch and snorkeling. The guides were informative, competent and friendly. The portion of the trip that wa..."s difficult was what has been referred to in other reviews as drift snorkeling. They take you to a coral area that is situated between the open ocean and a lagoon. This creates a rapid flow of water over a shallow coral area. I am not an experienced snorkeler and it was overwhelming for me. I injured both my knees. Others in our group who were experienced snorkelers also were cut up. Fortunately, they did have first aid materials on the boat and could address our injuries. Overall, I think this is a very good tour. Inexperienced snorkelers beware.

"We hired a car to tour around and really enjoyed our visit to the Marae.
It is a pretty location and the information boards are great as they give you all the information you need to understand what you are looking at."
