Just an hour north of San Francisco in the Point Reyes National Seashore, wilderness kayaking experiences await you. Our Inverness and Marshall sites on Tomales Bay are adjacent to pristine beaches and protected waters where unspoiled nature and wildlife viewing abound. Naturalist-led tours, oyster tours, overnight camping, events and parties for individuals and companies, weeklong youth camps, beginning and advanced classes are just a few of our offerings. Take a break from "civilization" and explore the natural world with us by kayak. Since 1984 Blue Waters has also led trips to Baja, Mexico including Sea of Cortez island expeditions and incredible whale watching from Laguna San Ignacio base camp. Check out our website for schedule and details!

"Well it just nourishes your soul. We lve to hike out from Pierce Ranch to see the Heard of Tule Elk that have replenished the Pt. Reyes Seashore. In the Fall you can hear them calling or buggeling for their territory and courtship later. In the spring it is stunning to see them in the meadows of w..."ild flowers with their calfs. Bear Valley visitor center always knows how to steer you to a hike where you can find them, bring a set of good binoculars as the park service is protective of how close you can get to them. The setting they are in is just awesome!
Our guests at Barracca on the Bay just rave about their time at the park and seing the elk is a highlight. Our family has had the pleasure of seeing the herd grow since the 80's and they never cease to amaze us year after year in all seasons!

"Very beautiful scenery, but very windy and cold. I enjoyed the outing, but dress warmly. Good place to photograph. If you have mobility problems, probably not a great choice. Some locations don't require much walking, but most do. The lighthouse was closed this day due to high winds, so that is..." a consideration.

"sometimes eclipses the destination.....If i hadn't run into Muir Beach on the way to Point Reyes i probably would have given this destination 5 stars.....But the sheer amount of wildlife i found at Muir Beach overshadowed my enjoyment of Point Reyes.......So many hiking paths to choose from ..how do..." you choose one for the experience you want....it was a little overwhelming...150 miles of hiking trails.....
The Staff at Bear Valley Visitor center were amazing and helpful......AND provided free maps. There is also no entry fee for the park but they have a donation box. Everything is so well kept up you will want to donate. A staff member was able to help us decide on a trail. We took a combination of Coastal Trail to the beach which is nice and flat and mostly in the treeline...we saw wild strawberries AND two harmless grass snakes sunning themselves on the path so keep an eye out......Coastal Trail came out at Drakes Bay where we walked an incredibly windy mile to pick up Muddy Holl...
