"For a casual stroll near a river, to a picnic, to a nature walk the park has it all you. There are embankments from the War of Norther Aggression still intact for the historical minded. Pleasent overlooks over the river. It is a quiet place to step out of the hussle and bussle of todays world and ju..."st relax.

"I grew up coming to this park and now at 62 I still enjoy it. It celebrates the Suwannee River which winds from the Okeefenokee Swamp to the Gulf coast. The Withlacoochee River joins the Suwannee here. Nature trails are easy and meander both along the river and then through the forest. Springs f..."low into the river along the trails. The campgrounds are level, clean, and easy to maneuver. People often bring their families here to enjoy this park. They also have cabins for those not inclined to "camp".
It includes Confederate earthworks intended to defend the ferry across the Suwannee. Fortunately (I'm Southern), the Union troops were turned back at Olustee in their march on Tallahassee (the only Southern capital that never fell to the Union).
The only drawback is that they have no swimming. Otherwise, for a nice quiet stay to enjoy a slow flowing beautiful river, it is a great place to spend a few days.
