"Today my wife and I rode from Cedartown to Rockmart. We are 50+, recreational riders, ride road bikes, and not "fit". The depot at Cedartown has a nice museum and restrooms. The trail is great! There are several hills in the first 5.5 miles but not as horrible as I had read. Neither my wife no..."r I had to walk our bikes up any of the hills. I was muffing and puffing for sure but most of the hills had flatter sections to break up the climb. The scenery was great. We ate at Frankie's for lunch. Big selection. Great food. Priced right. We walked around the square where they were having a Welsh Festival. Lots of neat vendors, great music.
We have ridden the trail from Anniston to Rockmart together and I have ridden the rest alone.
My wife and I plan to finish the rest this year.
Great ride. Carry enough water and snacks as there are not a lot of shops or gas stations along the trail side . Again the hills are not insurmountable and if all else fails it becomes a "bik...

"My husband and I rode the whole trail between Sunday April 21, and Thursday April 25, 2013. We stayed in Hiram at the Country Inn and Suites, Sat. and Sun. night. For dinner we walked in to town on Saturday night and ate at the Olive Tree, great place. The trail was an easy mile on residential s..."treets from the hotel. On Sunday-rode to Smyrna and back and stayed a second night at the Country Inn and Suites. On Monday we left the car at the motel (with permission), and headed out with panniers to Cedartown then Anniston. We wanted to eat at Frankie's in Rockmart for Lunch but they are closed on Mondays. The hills were intense but we made it. Stayed at the Country Hearth and Inn, which was adequate and very reasonably priced. Bad breakfast there though. Ate at Portobello's, and the Mexican Restaurant by Kroger's which was walking distance from the motel. Tuesday off to Anniston., stayed at the Parker house Inn. Scott and Megan and their two children were great. Scott and Me...
