When the opportunity presented itself to be in the area of Loretto KY, there is no way that I could pass this tour up. I've never been to a distillery tour before or since, so I can't compare to others on the bourbo..."n trail. But, at Maker's Mark, not only are the grounds and buildings beautiful, the tour takes you through exactly how this is made, and why different bourbons taste the way they do. The tasting was informative (and tasty!), but I felt the cost of buying your own bottle of Makers and hand dipping your own wax was over the top. So, I didn't buy anything at the well stocked Makers gift shop except the $7 tour. Well worth it. If I am ever there again, I will bring a picnic and linger over the pleasant grounds. " More >
