Our tour of the Jeremiah Lee Mansion was excellent. Our tour guide was knowledgeable and informative. The tour is extensive - you see all areas of the house except the very top floor - and it took more than an hour. We also roamed about the gardens for a bit.

If in Marblehead, do take the time for a tour - it's well worth it.

Had an amazing time and loved the city. Never been and can’t wait to go back. Was very cold so be sure of the season you decide to go, wonderful restaurants people were warm and inviting. Stayed with family so didn’t have the opportunity to stay at a hotel or bed and breakfast but lots of them around. Very New England and lots of history.

Castle Rock is a must-see in Marblehead. It was so peaceful and truly breathtaking. I wish I could’ve spent all day there!

obviously visited for hocus pocus which was super fun but it was a really nice old cemetery that was worth the visit even if you aren't a fan of the movie.

Do not miss this if you tour Marblehead. This 102' structure is fairly rare. Views are great of the water and islands.

To get to Brown's most people wade/walk over during the lowest tide. If you don't want to wait you get take a boat, kayak, canoe, paddle-board, etc. There are paths to walk on and a swing set. Up top there are many places to safely go diving off of. A great place to spend your day in the summer.

If you go to Marblehead you should complete your itinerary going here. Abbot Hall has much to see on their first floor. Both the Maritime museum and the room full of historic portraits and other historic items.

I wanted to visit Marblehead because I am reading The Indispensable which documents the role of Marbleheaders in the Revolutionary War as George Washington's boy guard, as suppliers of munitions to the army, and as the people who helped begin the US Navy. The Museum was a good jumping off point for a walk through the town.

This exhibit - Mapping Marblehead: in the 19th Century - is a great exhibit covering the amazing changes that happened in Marblehead in the 1800's. It is very well done with text/image "towers", map videos and interactive maps. There are also static displays highlighting shoemaking, among other things, in Marblehead.

Marblehead is a gem of a town, roiling with history and filled with houses from the 1700's and 1800's. It's worth a day to explore, and you must include a visit to this exhibit.

This lovely island, named after one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence, and known for many other achievements (as well as one not well publicized, i.e. the creator of "gerrymandering,") is just off the coast of Marblehead near Little Harbor. From one hour before to one hour after "dead low tide," it is easy to walk out on a land bridge to the island. The island itself is lovely, filled with greenery, left natural, with some nice benches to sit on and contemplate the island and its surroundings, good views of Crowninshield Island and Fort Sewall.
