West Barnstable Attractions: What to do in West Barnstable
"Ha ha, whale pun.
Ok, enough of my silliness. We were pretty excited to go out whale watching but in no way could we have known how AMAZING it would be! The boat itself in nice and stable. We saw a pack of seals on the way out, which was cool.
Once we got to the whale zone we were surround..."ed! We saw whales catching fish with bubbles right next to the boat. We saw a whale breach TWICE! We saw a whale roll over. We saw different types of whale and at least 19 different Humpback whales including Salt who, I dare say, is a whale celebrity!
The crew knew a lot about whales in general and about the particular individuals that we were watching. They had photos of tail flukes so that you could learn the names of the whales you saw. I will go back. It was good.

A young humpback whale leaping out of the water and giving us all a wonderful show! I gasped and froze in complete awe! Missed the shot but was ready for the next! Up, it soared thrashing in the water! Shot after shot with my camera I was finally testing my camera with one beautiful shot after the next! We were able to see about 5-6 additional whales, dolphins and ...
