Thomas Hart Benton's life is present in both his home and his paintings, and both are preserved at Thomas Hart Benton Home and Studio State Historic Site. A trip to the home and studio of the renowned painter, sculptor, lecturer and writer offers a glimpse into how the talented Benton lived and worked. Benton converted half of the carriage house into his art studio, which remains as he left it. Visitors can still see coffee cans full of paintbrushes, numerous paints, and a stretched canvas waiting to be transformed into another of his masterpieces. Thomas Hart Benton died in his studio in 1975.

"I visited the Plaza with my mom, aunt and sister and we had a good time shopping and just walking around. We ate breakfast at Cooper's Hawk Winery and lunch at Brio Tuscan Grille. Both were fantastic and the servers were very nice and knowledgeable. The shopping in the Plaza was so-so, a lot of the ..."same shops that are in our hometown (Pottery Barn, Hot Mama, Apple, etc.), but some that aren't too (Kate Spade, Michael Kors). All in all, I would say we had a great time, it's so neat to have all of those stores and restaurants in an outdoor mall area. You could literally walk around all day and duck into bars in between your shopping to have a drink or appetizer. I would recommend going here for anyone visiting KC.

"We visited the Sea Life in KC and made a it a combo trip with the Lego Discovery Center. We spent just over an hour (75 minutes) walking through. My kids loved it and thought it was great. Lots of different species of fish, as well as a trivia game for them to play as they walked. They thought t..."hat was fun and you get a Medal (plastic coin with a ribbon).
There is a "touch pool" that allows you to touch and feel, sea stars (starfish), shrimp, urchins and other stuff. Kids thought that was the best. There is a play place at the end for kids probably under 9-10.
The family picture at the end is $11 for one and then goes on. There is a gift shop with aquarium and Lego items. Prices for stuffed animals were comparable to other places like KC Zoo and larger attractions.

"You haven't been to KC if you haven't been to the Plaza - the Plaza is what KC is - it is the best of us. It is what we aspire to. It is a Saturday afternoon and a Friday night. There is nothing not to like about the Plaza."
