"What more could ask on a lovely day than to visit this beautiful garden and historic house in the Sunapee region of NH? The half mile walk from the parking lot to the main house is pleasantly downhill, but if you can't walk that far, you may drive your car and park near the house. Guided house tours..." by trained volunteer docents (at 11, 12, 2 and 3) are included in the $10 admission price. A guided garden tour at 1 pm may be your choice, or simply stroll through the gardens by yourself. The rock garden enjoys a view of Lake Sunapee and is over 100 years old, carefully tended by an army of volunteers. The perennial bed is gorgeous in summer. The "Old Garden"--built in the early 1900s, is a hidden gem. Several walking trails on the property let you get into the woods--find the wildflower loop, or the longer trail that goes to the lake shore.
