"It appears that as time moves on a couple of the spikes have broken off. Good news is that there are hundreds (maybe thousands) more still left.
You can even walk through the small canal space underneath but be careful its slippery and may have dangerous fumes present!"
"This convict-built folly is well worth a stop if you are traveling along the east coast of Tasmania. There is a storyboard with the history of the bridge; it contains several theories as to the reason for the odd construction. There are also several spectacular beaches nearby with stunning views of ..."Great Oyster Bay and the magnificent Freycinet Peninsula.
The bridge is well signposted and right beside the highway so it's a quick stop for the opportunity for some great photos.
