  "I reached Baldy Point, one of the hills/peaks of the Quartz Mountains, quite by accident, or more by a combination of instinct and luck. And wow!! For the cool, windy but sunny day, that it turned out to be - what a wonderful surprise it was. At the parking lot, that I reached after seeing and follo..."wing some signs of "Climbing Area", there was only one car. I immediately was able to spot two climbers who were already far up, busy climbing carefully the steep quartz walls of this 500 feet (?? - different signs and sites give different numbers) hill. I walked the trail around Baldy Point, until I decided it was safe enough to start the climbing with only my camera, my jacket and a pair of gloves which turned out to be very helpful in grabbing the sharp and rough rocks which were many times covered with smaller and bigger cactuses.   "Pros: Great wild life viewing, trail hiking and mountain climbing. Cons: Lake is the lowest I've ever seen it. Also, facilities around the park are closed in the fall/winter season, so make sure you take all you need or you'll be driving an hour round trip for supplies to Altus or Hobart. "
