"This is a surprising bit of history hidden away. It is free, but they would great fully accept a donation. See a life saving station used by the coast guard until the 70's. the volunteer has wonderful stories to tell and will discuss any of the exhibits. Especially enjoyed the walk to the old viewin..."g tour and to the place overlooking where the boats were launched. Worth a trip

"Great place, good people! This is living history at its best, provided lighthouses are your cup of tea -- if you are passing by, make sure you stop and take the tour -- worth every penny of the $2 fee and much more!"
"We stopped at the lighthouse after it was closed and the sun was starting to set. I got out of the car to snap some photos. The wind was so strong it ripped the door from my grasp. It was worth it, though, because the photos are amazing. The lighthouse can be toured Wed-Mon. so we went back the next..." day. It costs $2 to tour the lighthouse. We walked up the steep spiral stairway to view the light. The gentleman at the top gave us more information as we viewed the fresnal lens. I am happy to have experienced this and to learn more about lighthouses. If you haven't seen one before, make sure you visit. Just be mindful of the possible wind. We were told the highest wind measured here hit 174 mph!
