The Courses, The Resort at The Mountain's 27-hole golf course nestled in the Salmon River Valley of the Mt. Hood National Forest, is open to Resort guests, members and daily-fee play.Tee off on three distinct nine hole tracks. There’s the region’s oldest course, the Pine Cone Nine. And the signature Foxglove Nine. Plus the forgiving Thistle Nine. Even non-golfers will enjoy spectacular views from the 19th hole!

Horse drawn carriage and wagon rides. We are located at the base of Mt Hood in Welches, OR. Take a ride on a beautiful Vis a vis horse drawn carriage thru the streets in Welches. Larger groups really enjoy the covered wagon which seats 10 comfortably. You'll enjoy meeting our pampered Percheron geldings, Bob and Duke, they will leave you with a memory you wont soon forget.

"We played here on the Thistle and Pine Cone 9's and had a great time! The fairways were a bit damp and balls often plugged and we got little roll, but the greens putted well despite the fact that they had been plugged fairly recently. The Thistle 9 is forgiving and short (we played from the black t..."ees) while the Pine Cone track is much longer and requires several tee shots through what seems like small openings from the tips. Oh, and it's much harder....5 strokes harder by my scorecard! There are four sets of tees so the course can be enjoyed by everyone and be sure to stop by the restaurant at the course where we had a perfectly cooked burger and enjoyed the thin shoestring fries after the round! About the only drawback was that my favorite 9, Foxglove was closed and not open for a week or so, which I think is the most scenic and pleasurable 9 of the three the resort offers. Also there is no driving range to warm up before so we were compelled to hit a breakfast ball off the first ...

"Visiting the Ranger station first will clear up any questions about parking or use permits, but it was not open when we visited.
For just a day hike, park at the bridge where the road crosses the Salmon river.
HIke in to the Wilderness boundary marker, get your permit (if after May 15), and kee..."p going.
Just past the bridge, the trail begins a moderate climb to the overlook above Frustration Falls. This makes the climb worth it. A short afternoon is time enough to make it in and out to at least Goat Creek camp. With a full day available, beyond Goat Creek the trail narrows, there are less people, great hiking and more fantastic scenery.
Some tips to help first-timers fit in: This is a friendly place; greet other hikers on the trail and help each other pass. Don't take your kids past the Rolling Riffle camp, it is a long climb for them and it really is dangerous at the overlook. Don't play in the river. And please, pack out your trash!
