"Awesome sight to see the gorge and falls. Could hear the roar of the falls on the path down. The trail is rugged and hilly with an optional downstream path directly to the falls/swimming areas. It's a long walk down. On certain paths, one slip and you are dead. Seriously.
Cummins Falls was rat..."ed as one of the top 10 swimming holes in the USA. What makes this place unique is that it still has an untouched feel to it. If you have the physical capability to make the 1/2 mile trek to the overlook of the falls, you should go. Definately not for small children in strollers, whiners or out-of-shape folks.

"This is a brand new park so there is some bare ground and other things you would expect with a place under construction but it is clearly going to be another shining star in the amazing State of Tennessee park system. Incredible falls!"
"The naturally formed swimming hole here has been rated in the US top 10! It's a hike to get to it (unless you are adventurous and climb down the bluff). Nice state park."
