"When we arrived, some people were dressed up, singing in French dancing in circles in the courtyard accompanied by assorted strings and percussion. A good start!
The grounds were wonderful, sloping away from the castle. Lovely and quiet. There are some steps and inclines though so maybe not so go..."od for the elderly or infirm.
Really fancied booking some time in the NT cottage in the gardens!
Cafe was very much a typical NT eatery - and that's no bad thing.
Didn't do the inside of the castle myself, but my wife and parents took the guided tour and were gone for most of an hour, declaring it really good when they returned.

"Went to Powis Castle as We are Members of The National Trust, and had liked what We saw of this place in the Handbook.
It never let Us down,The Views are Magnificent, and The Gardens are Spectacular. So well looked after,as are most of The National Trust Places.
The Castle itself was very interesting...",We had The Guided Tour,so as to learn a little bit about the history, well worth doing. The Guides were very knowledgeable, and answered any questions readily.
Went into The Little Cafe to have a drink and a well earned cake(I'm sure We walked off The Calories).
We were very lucky with The Weather,as The Sun kept popping out Its head every now and then.
Well worth the visit, whether You are A Member or Not.

"The gardens are a must see at Powis Castle. The weather was on/off rainy but we still enjoyed venturing round and taking photographs. There are plenty of place to shelter and have a picnic as we did on a bench under a hedge! We enjoyed going in the castle, the room stewards were friendly but many di..."dn't go out of their way to talk to us which was a shame. We enjoyed learning about Clive of India and looking at all the fantastic furniture pieces in the house!
