"Get a map as this will help. But if you don't just follow the signs. The only tricky things is in Nocelle. Follow the signs to the centro follow the stairs partly down, but when you get the chance turn right. If you get to a courtyard where the church is, you have come too far (unless you want to ta..."ke the 1700 steps down). Go back up and take the path to the left (as you head up). Follow this all the way to Montepertuso and into the village. To the left there will some stairs which says Positano. From there it is about 950 steps down to the level of the main street. To get to the beach it us even further. I lost count by then!

"A moderately strenuous 7 km hike along one of the most scenic trails I've ever seen. Don't miss it. Start in Bomerano (in the Agerola region up in the mountains), finish the hike in Positano (on the coast), take the ferry from Positano to Amalfi (8 euros), then take the bus from Amalfi back to Bomer..."ano (2.50 euros). It's easy and makes for an incredible day long trip.

"We were staying in Amalfi and got the bus to Bomerano and the walk starts across the road by the corner pub (sign posted and information). There is quite a bit of up and down but it is very achievable and no where near as hard as some reviews have suggested. My step mother (60) who has low to averag..."e fitness managed the walk and 1600 steps down and has now a great sense of achievement. Once in Nocelle she was going to take the bus back but we somehow missed this turn off and headed off down the stairs to Arienzo then a 1.5km walk to Positano. We caught the public ferry back to Amalfi (don't get talked into an expensive water taxi!). There were a lot of older people doing this walk just taking their time. As Nike says 'Just Do It!
