This public venue showcases work by artists from throughout the Shenandoah Valley with a focus on folks within a 30 mile radius. The art is changed on the first business day of the month and in itself has become something of an event for people to see. The bios of the artists are posted in the lobby and each artist is on hand to meet the public at an evening reception on the 2nd Tuesday of the month. The work is for sale and can be purchased out right or put on lay-a-way at Shenandoah Valley Artworks. Shenandoah Showcase is an ongoing partnership between the Town of Strasburg and Shenandoah Valley Artworks. Each month the work of an artist or group of artists is shown throughout the ground floor hallways during normal business hours.

"If you are in the Shenandoah Valley and driving down 81, or near Strasburg, jump into the Strasburg Town Hall and catch the excellent work of Ann Harrison and Lauren Vaughan. Both artists represent stunning renditions of natural scenery--some as far away as Maine, but all in keeping with the beauty..." of the Valley.
Ms. Vaughan's work in pastels evoke the extraordinary out of ordinary scenes from barns and wooded areas.
Ms. Harrison's water colors capture the spirit behind any season, but her depictions of farm scenes in winter light make a viewer want to stop there and look some more.
The show is easily accessible as it is right on the first floor of the town hall, and outside the door there are some cute restaurants, galleries and antique stores.

"You are sure to find something you like at Shenandoah Valley Artworks. I understand there are more than 40 artist who supply items to this store for sale. I found some must have pottery pieces here at reasonable prices. There is quite a variety of artwork to choose from. Very friendly proprietor who..." also shared some history about the building with us.

"We opened our 2013 antiquing season traveling to Strasburg's Emporium Antiques. It's very typical of antique dealers who has amassed together to present everything under the sun. It's relatively easy to travel through the huge building and uncover the treasures from a time gone by. No matter your a..."ge, you'll find something that will jog your memory banks and take you back to the time when... Checkout is a breeze.
It's a good idea to take some hand wipes to "clean-up" every one and a while. Although, the different vendors do spend adequate time keeping their inventory clean and organized.
