Greenwell Store Museum where the shopkeeper will help you gather your supplies for your trip up Kona mauka. The mingled aromas of coffee beans and oranges blend together again, just as they did over 100 years ago when goods were sold here in the heydey of Kona ranching. On Thursdays, visitors and locals alike, line up to buy the sweet bread coming out of the Portuguese stone oven.Come join us! You won’t leave this place without feeling you have experienced a rare glimpse into Hawai`i’s colorful past.

Historic sites once covered much of the Kona Coast and these treasured places promote understanding of Hawaii’s heritage. The seven miles of Alii Drive, along the shoreline connecting Historic Kailua Village to Keauhou, generally follows the ancient route of the ala loa foot trail that evolved over time as a road. Four of the seven ancient Royal Centers in use in Kona are located on what is now called Alii Drive.
There are dozens of Points of Interest and Scenic Stops along the route. Discover Hawaii’s history on the Royal Footsteps Along the Kona Coast Hawaii Scenic Byway.

"Capt. Fay is a legend in the world of marlin fishing. He is very intense, but very personable at the same time. No doubt he and his mate Brett will do everything in their power to get you hooked up. No sitting around for hours waiting for something to happen. They taught us a lot about marlin fi..."shing. Capt. Fay's specialty is live baiting with small tuna (aku), which is very productive under the right conditions and a lot of fun. Catching the bait on ultralight tackle is a great way for inexperienced anglers to get involved with the action. We fished three days and hooked four blue marlin. My wife and I each caught one (tagged and released). We also caught a 150# yellowfin tuna and had spearfish in the trolling pattern a few times. We'll be back to Kona and will definitely fish on the Humdinger when we do!

"This was the best thing we did on our vacation we saw so many things we would have never seen from the ground. The active volcano was amazing and the valleys and waterfalls spectacular. The plane was so smooth way better then the helicopter flight we did last time in Kauai and the price was way less..." then the helicopter.. I would recommend this to anyone.. Best way to experience the Big Island.... 10 out of 10

"wow....we had a wonderful time on our helicopter tour and valley landing. It was amazing. We loved the trip although it sucks to be a little heavier as it costs more to go on the trip. Koji was our pilot and was very knowledgeable and friendly! We would def. do again if we come back to Hawaii."
